The Last Secrets of Machu Picchu, a two-part documentary (1 hour 15 minutes each), tells the story of an incredible discovery made at one of the most famous archaeological sites on the planet. Underground chambers, probably burial sites, are believed to lie behind a door blocked by stones beneath one of the city’s most important buildings: the Temple of the Three Doors. It also tells the story of the Inca Empire, the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors that led to the fall of this civilization, and the mystery of the disappearance of all the royal mummies, including that of Pachac\u00fatec. <\/p>\n

But in Peru, no one listens to him. In 2011, he contacts French explorer Thierry Jamin. Initially skeptical, Jamin was soon convinced by Crespy’s discovery. He hypothesized that there were still intact burial chambers at the heart of the Inca citadel. In April 2012, Jamin and his group obtained the green light from the Peruvian Ministry of Culture to carry out electromagnetic resonance surveys at the supposed location of the burial site. The electromagnetic resonance tests were carried out in April 2012. They revealed the existence of a staircase leading to a quadrangular room, then to a dozen cavities of human dimensions. These were undoubtedly tombs. This is a major discovery. Perhaps the mausoleum of Inca Pachac\u00fatec, the founder of Machu Picchu… but above all of the Inca Empire! On September 5, 2012, the Peruvian authorities officially recognized the discovery made by Thierry Jamin and the Inkari Institute. But things got complicated when Thierry and his team presented a new project aimed at opening the famous entrance. The head of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, in collusion with the regional director of the Ministry of Culture (later dismissed and prosecuted for embezzlement), tried everything in their power to prevent this new project. They launched a brutal smear campaign against Thierry Jamin, using accusations, insults, and false rumors. Death threats soon arrived at the French explorer’s home.
