The last secrets of Machu Picchu – Episode 2 – The Emperor’s Mausoleum

David Crespy was right. This is a major discovery. It may be the mausoleum of the Inca Pachacútec, the founder of Machu Picchu… but above all, of the Inca Empire! On September 5, 2012, Peruvian authorities officially recognized the discovery made by Thierry Jamin and the Inkari Institute.

But things took a turn for the worse when Thierry and his team presented a new project aimed at opening the famous entrance. The head of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, in collusion with the regional director of the Ministry of Culture (who was later dismissed and prosecuted for embezzlement), tried by every means possible to block this new project. They then launch a vicious smear campaign against Thierry Jamin, employing accusations, insults, and false rumors. Death threats soon arrive at the French explorer’s home. He is called a “fake archaeologist” and accused of wanting to “destroy Machu Picchu.”
