Episode 1
Destination: Red Zone
It was while studying the petroglyphs at Pusharo and then examining images taken during a helicopter flyover in December 2008 that Thierry Jamin believed he had located the legendary city of Paititi. This episode will take you to Mameria, the small agricultural settlement discovered by Nicole and Herbert Cartagena in 1979. Thirty years later, Nicole returns to the site with Thierry. There, she reunites with her “forest family.” The group then sets out to explore a mysterious “Red Zone.” Will Thierry and his companions find Paititi there? The journey promises wonderful encounters and the discovery of a “Valley of Wonders,” teeming with lost cities.

The New Sacred Valley of the Incas
During this period, Thierry and his team explored the Lacco and Chunchusmayo valleys, located north of Cusco. They uncovered dozens of previously unknown Inca sites: fortresses, small agricultural centers, necropolises, and entire cities comprising hundreds of buildings. Located along an ancient Inca trail, these ruins seem to point curiously toward the northern part of the department. Soon, accounts from Matsiguenga Indians mention a mysterious mountain and monumental ruins hidden at its summit. Thierry is convinced: it can only be Paititi. In July 2012, thanks to a satellite image from Astrium, he spots a strange square formation a thousand meters on each side, right in the heart of the Megantoni National Sanctuary. Located north of the Lacco Valley, our explorers seem to have reached the gates of the legendary city.

Paititi Located
After fifteen years of research, the discovery in 2012 of a mysterious “square mountain” in northern Cusco Province would turn Thierry’s life and that of his companions upside down. For Jamin was convinced that the Holy Grail of South American archaeology lay hidden at the summit of this peak. For several years, the Inkarri Institute team will do everything in their power to reach this inaccessible “promised land.” After several attempts deep within the “green hell,” Thierry finally tries his luck by helicopter in September 2019. But things will not go as planned. A wild and thrilling tale! Some time later, Herbert Cartagena passes away and joins the angels of Paititi. Finally, new satellite images reveal to Thierry Jamin that he was right: unprecedented images… and truly historic ones! The hour of the “mysterious city of Paititi” is about to strike…
