This two-part documentary tells the story of an incredible discovery made at the heart of one of the world’s most famous archaeological sites: Machu Picchu. Underground chambers, likely burial sites, are believed to lie behind a door blocked by stones beneath one of the city’s most important buildings: the Temple of the Three Doors. It also tells the story of the Inca Empire, the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors that led to the fall of this civilization, and the mystery of the disappearance of all the royal mummies, including that of Pachacútec.
